364 Maine Mall Rd, South Portland, ME 04106
This adventure place is inside the Maine Mall. It’s technically apart of Jordan’s furniture but you don’t have to walk through their store to get there. It’s next to Starbucks and across from Round1 Bowling. Because it is the mall, there’s plenty of parking but finding a spot will depend on the day and time you go.
There are two courses. One for kids 48″ and under and a bigger, higher up, with more risky obstacles. My daughter at 44″ could have gone on the bigger one with a guardian assisting, we luckily managed to talk her out of it because neither I or my husband like heights lol. She enjoys the little course more than enough to make the $10 payment worth it. The big course is $15.
Children are harnessed up and led into the small obstacle course are. There’s multiple bridges with different kinds of skills needed. The can maneuver around these and go in, basically, a circle. The zipline is my daughter’s favorite. If yours isn’t into the zipline they can just keep crossing the bridges as many times as they want.
I can’t speak too much on the upper level but looking up, you can see another larger, longer zip line. There’s some finger hold walls, swinging bridges and I’m sure more but again we haven’t been up there….yet.
My daughter first came here when she was the age my son is now, 17m and she absolutely loved it. However my son hated it from the start. The only part he enjoyed was the long entry way with a colorful ceiling that changed in sync with the loud music coming from within Its Rope Course. He lasted no more than ten minutes on course but spent an hour running back and forth and dancing. I think you have two hour time limit but I’ve found we start to wrap up at the an hour and a half mark.
The place itself doesn’t serve food but the food court is not far from here. There are bathrooms inside but we haven’t needed them so I’m unsure of how well kept it is or if there’s a changing table. If you’re a breast feeding mama there are benches directly outside the little course. I feel very comfortable leaving my 4yo in there by herself if needed.
If you’re looking for something different to do, if your kids want to give an obstacle course a try, if you need a break and comfortable letting your kids do there own thing then this place is a must see. It’s fun and there’s enough to keep kids of all ages entertained for a bit. If your kid is sensitive to loud sounds be aware the music is loud and there are flashing lights. My daughter is sensitive to loud noises but the music doesn’t seem to bother her.
