Easy to find playground but a pain in the butt parking. It’s mostly street parking and any other parking area is going to be a battle to get to the playground, as it is on top of a hill. Depending on where you park you could be walking to the playground anywhere between thirty seconds to 10m.
You’ll first walk up on two sets of swing sets. One has the regular swings and the other has the baby swings.
There is a small toddler/baby structure with two sets of steps up. It leads up to a driving wheel and a tube slide.
The next structure is bigger but still not the biggest structure here. It has a couple ways up, the easiest way is the steps. There is a curved ladder, a three step ladder and a spiral ladder. Whatever way you go up leads to a double slide and one wavy singular slide. Along the walls of this structure is a dome where kids can look out at their parents, a steering wheel and some finger mazes.
Then there’s the BIG structure. With a multitude of ways to get up, including but limited to, ladders, spirals, alternating foot and hand ladders and steps. Reaching the top will bring you to various bridges, some which curve inward and some that curve up, like a hill. There is a singular slide, a triple slide, a double slide and a twisty singular slide. The sturcture starts off small in height but quickly reaches lengths to high to reach a child from the ground. It’s a little worn down all over, as in the metal is peeling in spots which could result in some serious injuries. A parent can easily follow their young ones up here if needed.
There is no bathroom here at the playground but there is one nearby, which I’ll touch on in a minute. The playground is under no shade whatsoever and there is not a lot of places for parents to sit if they want to. This park sits above East End Beach which is a beautiful view. When we come to this park we always go down to the beach, whether to swim, find sea glass, clean it up or just walking and sitting on the sand. The bathroom is down here. I mentioned the beach and the parking being annoying and here’s why. The hill. The hill is very steep down to the beach and with three kids, 4y, 18m and 3m, that is not fun. We may get out often but we are not ACTIVE people if that makes sense. Anyway because of this we leave our parking spot to drive Dien to the other parking area which is also very sparse and you could be walking down a smaller hill anyway if you don’t get a spot in the lowest level lot. There a food truck circle here so food could be purchased here. I’m not sure what’s there on a regular basis but I’ve seen quite a few there before. Other than parking and lack of shade, this playground is a must. It is for all ages, not just because there are three different size structures. Aside from the smallest structures, all ages can use the other two as well. Finishing it off at the beach is a huge plus for us! The playground could use some upkeep because of the worn down metal but for me personally it doesn’t bother me. I know anything could happen but my kids are quite slow and safe on playgrounds so I don’t worry about them tripping much.
