We recently discovered this playground a couple weeks back at Music and Movement held inside the church that is this location. Finding the church is easy and unless to go to on a day service is being held parking is easy.
There is a small walk to the back of the church where they have equipment. It is plenty shaded and there is a square picnic table with an umbrella as well. There are random push cars and small climbing things for toddlers scattered around the mostly fenced wooded area. There is a playground set, meaning not an actual playground but set you could have in your own yard. There are two regular swings and a see-saw swing. A wooden ladder leads up to one green hilly slide and a set of monkey bars. There is a small door under the slide to enter an empty square for some pretend play. There is a sandbox underneath most of the shade. It is filled with different trucks, scoops and pails. Behind the sandbox is another playground plastic set. It has a baby bucket chair and a regular swing. It has a slightly slanted step ladder up to a small slide, although there is quite a drop at the end of the slide for a small child. Behind this is a pretend playhouse big enough for a few kids inside and a table for two in front of the house.
Each time I’ve come here since finding out a couple weeks ago, there’s a new toy or equipment added and I think I read somewhere it is an ongoing working progress, most, if not all equipment is donated. It’s nothing spectacular but little town of Gray isn’t exactly swimming in options for playgrounds. This is mostly geared for younger kids and toddlers. My 4y old loves coming here, regardless. My 18m loves loves loves the sandbox. This is a nice area to come to if you’re just looking to get out of the house on a nice day. You could bring a blanket and have a litte picnic or sit at the shaded table. It’s also conveniently right next to city hall, which also has a playground and fields so you could essentially walk over and go to both playgrounds. If you do this just walk through the sanded volleyball area , around the building and you should see the city hall playground. I also like the churchs’ playground for its location. It’s in the center of gray, literally right behind McDonald’s is the lot and the playground itself is behind cumbys. It’s quite and shaded. I wish it had a bathroom but since we live so close by its not a real issue for us. If you come here on a Tuesday you can catch Music and Movement at 10am inside the church. Both of these combined is worth it, the music and movement is really really awesome you should definitely check that out even if you don’t hit up the playground. I’ll include some pictures of that too in with the playground pictures.
