    October 2nd, 2023

    South Portland, ME 04106

This playground is on Main Street so while it’s not easy to miss you still might miss it looking for parking, which is street parking. The walk is a minute to the playground and field. There isn’t a lot of shade here nor is there a bathroom.

When you first walk Up you’llnotice a giant double slide. And I’m talking, GIANT. There are few ways up to get to the giant slide as well as some smaller slides. The first way up is the steps. Immediately after the first step is a opening to a curved set of handle bars that make a half circle and end at a post. Another step up is another opening to a small fire pole. Pass by this and cross a sturdy slanted upwards bridge. At the end of it, an opening. The opening is for a very challenging curved ladder. It’s curved almost sideways, my 4y tried but did not succeed. Yet. Next to this the first slide. It’s small and curved. The next opening is for a metal cargo net climbing thing. It’s four or five steps, my 18m old had no problems going up it but couldn’t figure out how to go down. It is wobbly and moves as kids move so be aware of that. Continue on up more steps and you’ll come to the opening for a flat rock wall with a chain in the middle. Opposite this rock wall is another opening to a more challenging rock wall. This rock wall is the type that have holes instead of rocks. These holes are randomly placed and in all shapes and sizes. This was the first of its kind that I’ve seen but still it was too risky for my 4y. Lastly is the big double slide. I went on this to show my 4y it was okay and not scary but inside I was screaming because it was scary and I was not okay.

This playground is definitely worth checking out! It’s within minutes of three other playgrounds I visited this day so you could do that too but this playground is also worth it alone. It’s near some shops and stores, of what I’m not exactly sure. I’d say this playground is for two years and up. With that said, my 18, almost 19m, old had no problems navigating the playground. The lack of shade and no bathroom are the two disadvantages but there’s so many advantages that outweighs them. I like the big field and small path to walk around. The playground has challenging climbers as well as having enough for younger kids too.
