Finding the actual playground can be tricky. We followed GPS and ended up on the side of the baseball fields. You wanna go onto Depot Road and find the American Legion which has a giant parking lot. It’s directly across from the Falmouth library so if you find that just go across the street. Follow the path by foot to find the playground. It isn’t a short walk but it isn’t so far away that if you left something in the car you couldn’t run back to quickly get it.
Walking up, the playground is in the center of a circular walkway/path. There are some benches off to the side of the perimeter. One way up this playground is easy steps. At the top of these steps, to the left is a double slide. To the right, another set of steps leading to an opening for a small fire pole. If not the fire pole, a bigger opening for the handle bars that have a slight challenge being that they’re curved upwards. Next to this is a singular handle bar to use to get to the next set of spiral handle bars. Back to the beginning where the steps are, if you skip the bars, kid can cross a humped bridge. At the end of it is the opening for the spiral ladder and to the left a big twisty slide. I went on this a few times and it was a pretty fast ride.
This was a really nice playground. It’s secluded and quiet. Its big enough for preschool age children and toddlers. It has enough for both to do. There is a a couple small paths that lead out to one of the falmouth shopping plazas; the one with lots for tots. If I had known where we were before going, this would’ve been an awesome day thing, where we would shop then grab a bite to eat at portland pie company, and then the playground. The playground is worth going to anyway but if you include these few activities it’d make for a really great day or bonding time. There’s a Starbucks within walking distance too! I’d check this out of you have kids over 14m or so. Basically any experienced walker and up. My 4yo loved the paths, even just going in circles and not heading towards the plaza. I’m always in this area and finding out this nice playground has been here the whole time and I could’ve been coming here for a while is a total face-palm. Falmouth library also has a story time so it would also be worth checking that out then heading across the street to the playground. We will find ourselves here often!
