Hello! I’m Ashlei, a mom of three, living in Gray, Maine! My children are 4, 22m and 7m.
You’re here so that means you’re like me looking to make core memories with your children or your children are driving you nuts inside your four walls you call home and you need to find a place where they can burn out all their energy! I decided to finally make a one stop spot for all the things in and around Maine to take children too. I’m a stay at home mom so I’m always looking for a new place every day to keep these wild creatures from depleting my brain of everything. My family and I try to visit somewhere new 2-4x a week!
I won’t be sugar coating things here. I will be grammatically incorrect half the time, I’ll use words like thingy majigy to describe something, things will be misspelled and what my family finds enjoyable yours might not (or vice versa).
I also want to state these are just my opinions on places based on our experience and situation. By that, I mean, what I allow for my children may not be something you yourself are comfortable with. I allow my 22m, within reason, to do everything my 4y old does.
I’ll critique places based on:
- location
- convenience
- cost
- Busyness
- Cleanliness
- BATHROOMS
- age appropriateness
- how much there is to do at location
Some of these writings will be lengthy, like museum reviews as there is a lot to cover and I want you to know exactly what to expect. Others write ups will be smaller, whether because if the size of the location or lack of variety of equipment or things to do. Either way I hope you enjoy reading them and if you decided to visit some of these places I’d love to listen to your feedback as well. I will try my best to describe everything I see and things we do. What I like what I don’t like.
I will try to include photos but if other children are seen I dont like to post and I try to keep my kids out as much as possible too. I also may have visited some of these places before this blog idea was even a thing so I wasnt taking pictures for a purpose. If you have any places you’d like me to check out please let me know and I’ll be happy to do so. We travel upward of an hour- hr and a half from where we live (gray).
