Windham Primary #2

Windham Primary School

If you’ve been following me from the start, one of the first playgrounds I went to was to Windham Primary School. What I wasn’t aware of was there are three total playgrounds at this location! I’ve written and reviewed the smallest play ground, you can find that review here.

When you park, you’ll see the smallest playground on your right and a small walking path. Take this path to get to the second (and third) playground. The walk is short but you’ll no longer be in sight of your car once you get to the playground.

Immediately, you’ll notice the monkey bar structure. This is made up of all different shaped and different difficulty level monkey bars. Directly behind that is a big playground structure. The first and easiest way up is the steps. The steps lead right up to a medium sized double slide. Across from the double slide is an opening to a slanted rock wall. Follow the straight bridge over to a firepole opening. Another way up/down is a slanted alternating horseshoe ladder, it is right next to the firepole. This leads up to a small step and a steeper faster slide. Across from this slide is another opening with a small step climbing pole. The steps descend/ascend in a small spiral pattern. Going past the steep slide is a couple more steps and opening leading to the big wave slide. On the way to this slide, is three more ways to climb up and down. One is a s shaped ladder bars, my two year old did these with little to no difficulty at all. Opposite of these climbing bars is a spiral climbing ladder with horseshoe shaped bars. Lastly, is a straight-mostly- rockwall.

There is a swing set with six regular seats and one seat shaped as a horse. We didn’t use it but it seemed very unstable for my kids to use, even the 5yo. Another stand alone sturcture at this playground is one of those merry go rounds made of hard plastic with seats that parents have to spin. If your kids are like mine, you’ll be stuck doing this the majority of the time. Next to this is a climbing spider web. Easy for a 5yo but difficult for my 2yo.

There is one picnic table for seating here and one small bench near the merry go round. If you’re sitting at table, behind you, you’ll see some small woods and rocks up above on a small hill. I’m told you can walk through here as well to get to and from the small playground and parking lot.

This playground is perfect for all ages, minus the monkey bars and spiderweb. My 5yo and 2yo could have stayed here for the entirety of our outing but I wanted to get to the third playground in this trip. You can find that review here. Overall I loved this playground. It’s on the smaller side as far as the actual size but there is still plenty for everyone to do on this playground.
