Topsham Recreational Field

30 Foreside Rd, Topsham, ME 04086

This playground is to find, park and get to. It has bathrooms and picnic tables. Other than the lack of shade it’s a great place to burn off some energy.

Bring a ball, badminton set, or really any field playing game and you’re set! Play in these games anywhere on the fields that surround the playground.

The playground is one tall structure. For an easy way up use the stairs. For more of a challenge try large rock wall or one of the two ladders. One ladder is an enclosed circular type thing and the other has alternating steps. There are two double slides, one big and one small.

Separate from the sturcture are three stand alone sturctures. One is a ladder that tilts from side to side as you make your way up and then back down again. The second is a giant ladder looking thing but here you can climb up and down almost like a hill. The third stand alone sturcture is a circular ladder with three of four rungs for climbing.

Behind the playground and the three structures is a swing set with regular swings and one chair swing with no sort of harness or buckle. Beside the swing set I’d a crawl through alligator. It’s not very big and I don’t know how entertaining it would be. I saw no one use it.

We went on a Wednesday mid-afternoon and there were quite a few older kids who seemed to enjoy the park. My 4y had already been to three other playgrounds so idk if it was because of that, the lack of shade on the playground or there really wasn’t much to do but she didn’t seem to enjoy very much here.

Compared to the other playgrounds in the area this one lacks. It does have a bathroom which the others did not. This playground could use a few more things, of what I’m not sure but a sandbox was talked about between myself and some other moms there. If you live in the area, it will suffice but other than that there’s just not a lot to do here and it gets real hot real quick being so out in the field with little shade coverage.
