The PlayLot-Biddeford, Maine

10 WestPoint Ln Building 10 – 219, Biddeford, ME 04005

I under estimated this place for a long time! I heard about this place in 2022 but thought how fun can this place actually be? The answer: SO SO MUCH FUN!

Arriving at The PlayLot was a bit of headache. The parking lot has a lot of one ways that make no sense. And with multiple businesses in the area it was difficult to pinpoint which building the place was in. It wasn’t until I crawled around the third time and read the small printed sign that listed the playlot inside building 10. There were very few parking spots available but after a few times of going the wrong way and circling the lot I found a spot right up front.

Inside building 10, it is easy to find The PlayLot. Enter the main doors and walk straight ahead. I would advise you to fill out their waiver beforehand or while you wait in line. Once the waiver is signed, the cost is free for adults and non-crawlers. Crawlers and up cost $15 each. You can come and go as you please all day. This isn’t helpful for me as I live 40m away but if you live closer this is a a great perk! With that said, its still on the pricey side for me i wouldve liked to see more like a $8-12 pricetag for whats here. We arrived at 9am (opening time) and stayed until 1230, I’m absolutely positive my kids would have stayed longer and still would’ve been entertained for a few more hours.

We went on a rainy day so it was VERY busy. There were kids of all ages and plenty of age appropriate toys for all. The facility is socks or bare feet and there is plenty of storage for all your belongings as you first walk in. Surrounding the room there are tables for you and tables for your youngins. Above you, are lights and fake trees and leaves to admire for the young babies. The play area itself is “fenced in” with two in/out gates. The floors are covered with artificial grass and mats. There are benches inside the play areas as well for parents to sit back and watch their children run wild. There is a “baby area” which has a small border around it and a small walk through opening. It holds toys for stacking, play mats and some soft pillows. There is no shortage of baby walkers and ride ons. I think my son played with every single one and enjoyed every minute of just walking around watching the older kids and navigating through other toys/structures.

There is a huge structural smack in the middle. It sports a moving ladder that leads to a tunnel and a spiral covered slide. Through the tunnel kids will come to another side-by-side slide, which sends the kids flying FAST. If slides aren’t the thing, they have the option to climb up even further on a ladder, where they’ll find a little nook with a telescope. Down on floor level is a balance beam and a door for pretend house play. There is a full on swing set for multiple kids who want to swing. One swing is a surf board type thing while the others are regular kids swings and a fabric baby swing. If you’re kids are into pretend house there is one play house (aside from the one in the big structure) it has a grill and food accessories inside. I saw many kids here (including my 17m old) and many of them kept coming back to it. You can also find a climbing dome for the older kids. Although I did not see many kids on this at any given time. There are smaller climbing structures for the younger kids as well which I did see getting plenty of use. There is a giant pickler triange sturcture that was changed every single time my son came back to it. Throughout our visit this sturcture always had a kid or two using it. Again, for the older kids, there was a “ninja ropes course” for kids to attempt; think ladders, swings, hoops. There are “bricks” to build with which was also very popular. Two car rollercoasters in the back were consistently busy. I even tried waiting with my son to let him try but it was so busy that he ended up getting distracted and we passed our turn to someone else. There is a small basketball structure with 3 small baskets and balls all around. Randomly spread through out were soft log climbers and a self spinning toy which again so popular we didn’t have a chance to try it out.

There is a bathroom (which we did not use) with a changing table right outside (which we did use multiple times). I was so comfortable with this place and it’s safety that I was able to leave my 17m and 4yo in the play area while I changed my 2m old diaper. They do have a supply of wipes if you’re like me and forgot yours! There’s a diaper genie to dispose of dirty diapers. There is also a chair there for any breastfeeding mamas who want a little bit of privacy, although for me, it was easy enough to sit down on one of the benches in the play area and feed my son.

All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this place! My only complaint is the parking and parking lot itself. Inside there isn’t too much to criticize. There is plenty to do for hours on end for all ages. Another swing set would shorten the wait for a swing but I also know space is limited and with all the other things to do its a minor thing. Rainy days typically are very busy so if crowds arent your thing, best to check it out on a nice day. On the other hand if you want to guarantee your kid finds someone to play with, coming on a rainy day will do that. It’s a excellent place to just sit back and let your kids do their own thing while you catch up on work, reading, or just straight up chillin.
